Level 3 – Requirements

  • Print

Responsible Suppliers have a range of requirements for Level 3 equipment, before it can be sold. Responsible Suppliers must:

  • Register all Level 3 equipment (or families of equipment) on the National Database (except for plugs, cords and plug/cord/connectors (cord sets) sold as an integral part of other equipment). Each registration will relate to a single type of Level 3 equipment;
  • Provide an Equipment Declaration that the equipment they are supplying meets relevant standards and is electrically safe.
  • Pay the required registration fee.

Level 3 equipment requires a valid and current Certificate of Conformity issued by a recognised Certifier before it can be registered on the National Database.

Level 3 equipment can be registered for a period of 1, 2 or 5 years at a time on the National Database, but cannot exceed the term of its Certificate of Conformity.

All Level 3 electrical equipment must be marked with the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) in accordance with AS/NZS4417.1.
