Marking of electrical equipment with the Regulatory Compliance Mark

All Level 1, 2 or 3 electrical equipment offered for sale by registered Responsible Suppliers must be marked with the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM), as illustrated below:

Regulatory Compliance Mark - 4417.1

The RCM should be placed in accordance with AS/NZS 4417.1 (i.e. generally on the external surface of the electrical equipment as near as possible to the model identification).

All level 3 and level 2 equipment must have the trade name and full model number as listed on the EESS registration database marked on equipment.

Further information on labelling of items with the RCM can be found in the AS/NZS 4417.1 (Use of the mark).

Responsible Suppliers are given a copy of AS/NZS 4417.1 when they register on the National Database as it includes correct dimensions of the RCM.

Note: See Transitional arrangements for information regarding existing approval markings.
